KANSA - A gripping read! Book review
4 STARS
The book starts with a cliched scene and you will foresee what will happen next. And that's just about it. Because after that you can't guess anything that goes inside.
Excerpt ;
OVER A SPAN OF TEN YEARS, HE KILLED FORTY PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEN VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE. AFTER FIVE YEARS OF SILENCE, HE IS BACK AGAIN, SEEKING HIS NEXT VICTIM. ONLY ONE MAN CAN STOP HIM - PROFESSOR BLACK.
With a story line that's teasing and a cover that's intriguing it doesn't take much to dive into KANSA.
The story travels with the investigating officer Saargi and Prof. Black's quests while they chase this serial, brutal murderer. There are sub stories, and they all stand unique. To a point though, then they all come together. Past, present and everything in between. It gets dirtier, darker and heartless but never a second lacks its speed or vibe.
The author has done a commendable job writing this. The narration is fairly captivating and executed so smart. With so many people in the mix and incidents to follow, go back to in references, this story could've gone so messy easily. The author has kept it at bay, steered clear and precise to the end keeping the sanity intact. I guess that speaks for the biggest plus of this book. The narration, it takes the reader along.
The characters and their expressions are kept to the minimum but dare I say, less was more here. So many unique characters, their shades, intentions, intuitions, primal instincts and ugliness have been portrayed so beautifully.
You cannot help but fall for the stoic Professor. Saargi goes toe to toe with him sharing the space, equally dominant and strong. Whichever character is present, they occupy the space for themselves. They are all you'll see given the scene. Such vivid story that sends chills. Look out for your finger nails, this book might make you bite it all off.
As a start of a trilogy, this book looks promising and kindles your interest for what's next for Professor Black. A gripping read! Go for it.
Cons though, the book will do good with another round of fine combing for typos and minor corrections.
